Croftengea (Loch Lomond) 2007 High Spirits 12 years 46% (undisclosed)
Magical label.
Colour Light straw.
Nose Melons (no surprise). Ashy peat, soot. Boiled sweets. Fruit jellies. Really quite fruity. Barley sugar. With water more melons. Fresh, cucumbers. Almonds. A bit lactic.
Palate Milky. Melons and malt. Lemon and sugar. Fresh apple and pear sweetness, apple juice. Texture is a bit thin. With water the texture is not helped. Perhaps a bit stemmy, leafy. Caramel.
Finish Ash and soot, woody peat, though quite light in all honesty. Watermelon and rockmelon. Black tea. Smoke. Longer than expected, with a bit of dark chocolate and some fresh berries. Tobacco and leather, woody.
Comments Quite light. Detectably Loch Lomond. 82/100.
